Massage Therapy  is the scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body. This process utilizes a  variety of techniques ranging from relaxation to clinical, sport and therapeutic applications.

Massage therapy is thought to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which slows down the heart and relaxes the body. Just to name a few of the benefits from receiving Massages are increased range of motion and flexibility, stress and pain reduction, and improved circulation.

Answering the questions most frequently asked.
Why should I get a massage?
Massage relieves the tension and soreness in muscles that can be caused by postural strain, or mental stress, or general fatigue.  Improved circulation, flexibility, posture and energy are just a few of the reasons massage is good for you.

What kind of massage is right for me?
Your Therapist will discuss your reasons for
getting a massage with you before your session and help you decide which type is right for you.  Basically you can choose from either
Therapeutic, Sports, or Relaxation techniques, or a combination may be what you need.

Will massage hurt?
Some forms of Therapeutic or Sports massage can feel sensitive because of muscle tension or ischemia in the tissue, but your Therapist will only work within your comfort level and will communicate with you to make sure you are comfortable.
Improve the quality of your life.

Eliminate  causes of pain, discomfort, and  inabilities that prevent you to  perform activities you enoy.

Massage Therapy can enable you to regain control over your body. Injuries, stress, and poor mechanics all contribute to preventing us to  fuction the way we desire. But in many cases the patterns of dense tissue that develop and restrict us can be released through soft tissue manipulation, movement, and re-education.
What about modesty?
Before you begin your session, the Therapist will discuss your needs and explain what the treatment will consist of.  Conservative draping will be used that consist of a top and bottom sheet.  The only part of you that is undraped is the part being treated.  So that you are comfortable, only remove the amount of clothes you are comfortable with.

Are there any restrictions?
In most cases no, but there are certain situations where caution should be taken.  Persons with uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, fever, recent surgery, or other problem conditions should consult their physician before beginning a massage program.
